BLUE TECH ADRION CLUSTER – BLUE TECH: is a project co-financed within the Target call on European Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region EUSAIR IPA Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007 – 2013, Priority axis 1.: Economic, Social and Institutional Cooperation, Measure 1.1.: Research and Innovation.           

The project aims to contribute to the development of Macroregional Cluster in green shipbuilding technologies sector in the Adriatic-Ionian area pursuing the purposes identifies by the Topic “Blue Technologies”; Pillar 1 “Blue Growth” of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) through the development of a feasibility study, a networking platform, consultation and promotion in the territory.

The partnership intends to support the development of the green shipbuilding technologies through the promotion of clustering policies in this specific sector as a worldwide competitive advantage for the Adriatic and Ionian enterprises, fostering innovative technology solutions and incentivising networking activities for the development of common strategies and projects among clusters and SMEs.

Specific objectives of the project are:

  • elaboration of a feasibility study for the development of Macro Regional Cluster in the Adriatic-Ionian area in the sector of the Blue Growth green technologies and new materials;
  • development of an updated and upgraded information platform system about the specific strategies, programmes and initiatives at the EU, national and regional level that support the development of green shipbuilding technologies in the ADRION area; 
  • development of an updated and upgraded information platform system mapping clusters, research/technology centres and significant enterprises operating in the shipbuilding sector. 

The project proposal aims to capitalize the experience of the different approved projects financed by Adriatic IPA programme, that were focused on different aspects that can contribute to the development of the feasibility study and of the networking platform of the Marcoregional Cluster: Cluster Club, SMART INNO and AdriMob.

Total budget of this project that will be implemented in 2016 is 521.600,00 EUR, of which 86.000,00 EUR is intended for Istrian Development Agency Ltd. The rate of EU co-financing is 85%.

Project lead partner is Unioncamere del Veneto and besides Istrian Development Agency Ltd, other project partners are: Provincia di Pesaro e Urbino, Friuli Innovazione and Regionalna ekonomska zajednica REZ Zenica. Project associates are: Istarska županija, Regione Marche and Regione autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia.
